Our Approach

We treat every mask as a document, not a decoration.

Behind each object in this collection is a file: where it was found, who it passed through, and — wherever it can be known — the people who made it and the ceremony it served. AS Art Gallery House was founded on the belief that African masks and sculpture deserve the same rigour as any other body of art history.

Our team works with regional scholars, conservators, and, where possible, descendant communities to keep that record honest and growing.
